Wedding photography is good for my soul. It is not a chore, or something I do just for the money. It is completely rewarding and satisfying, in every way. Financially, creatively and spiritually. When you read these emails I have received below, you may start to understand why it’s the best job in the world!

Mark was without a doubt the best thing that we did when it came to our wedding. I hired Mark because I had seen him work at a wedding in Ireland that I attended a few years earlier and I was very impressed with how well he fitted into the proceedings. When I saw how fabulous my friends' album was I made a mental note to contact him if the need came about for myself!

When we were making our wedding plans I knew I had to find out whether he would travel to New York, and when he agreed it was really the only thing I was 100% confident in the outcome; because I had seen both him at work and the results of that work already.

We had limited contact beforehand, but we met before the wedding day and I took him to the venue and agreed the plan for the day. On the day he was flexible, accommodating and a delight to have around. He fitted right in and simply felt like a friend. In fact, he stayed in the same hotel as our families and many of them thought he was a friend first and photographer second! He was always smiling and obviously loves his job and that really came through both on the day and, I think, in the photos.

I wanted a day that flowed and didn't stop/start for photo opportunities and it really worked out well. For most of the photos he took, I didn't even notice he was there. It was the perfect compliment to the kind of wedding we had and as I said, the best decision we made. We even found him in our local bar having a drink with our friends the night after the wedding - he just felt like one of the family.

The other fantastic element was afterwards - because he took the photos digitally, we got to see them online less than a week after the wedding, so we were on our honeymoon looking at the photos - it made the whole experience seem very real again and that was very special. To have them on-line also helped us a lot because our families live in the UK, so they could all log and and look and choose their own prints, so we didn't have to mess about with mailing photos around. Some of our relatives also loved having the choice between colour and B&W on each shot as well.

We just went with whatever Mark suggested as far as B&W and colour and after making our choices quickly we had a beautifully laid out and unique album very quickly. Many of my friends waited more than a year to get their album and we had ours in just a few months, which again made the experience all the more rewarding.

I have worked with many photographers in a past life and for me the important things to know about potential hires are 'how many shots did they have to take to get that fabulous portfolio?'. With the local photographers I really couldn't judge that, but I had a good idea with Mark, because I was fortunate enough to have seen him at work. To give you an idea of our wedding - he took over 360 fantastic shots that all could have made it into our album (he took a lot more than that in total, but by going digital, he doesn't worry about wasting film, so you're sure to get hundreds of shots to look at). We ended up with about 125 in our album, but even that was a tough choice!

As you can probably tell, I would wholeheartedly recommend Mark as your wedding photographer. He really captured our day in a way that reflected exactly who we were and through the photos, allowed us to revisit the memories and atmosphere whenever we like, and that to me is priceless I wish you the best of luck with your big day and hope it all goes exactly to plan.

If a picture speaks a thousand words then Mark Nixon could talk forever!
Yet, he is probably the most unassuming and naturally content person we met while trying to find a photographer for our wedding. From the first visit he put us at ease. On the day itself, he continued this spell of calm and photographed every move without making anyone feel uncomfortable or herded!

Everyone who has had a wedding album has worried about it. We were so confident in Mark’s work that we opted to allow him to pick and place the photographs for the album. When we met Mark to collect it and we went through it there in his studio, I have to say, it was tears of joy that stung our eyes. We were amazed that he had captured not only pictures of the day but also the essence of it. It was perfect.

We have since had some of the more unusual photographs framed. The really amazing part is the jaw dropping silence when you point it out to people that these works of art are wedding photos. Mark Nixon has a truly remarkable talent.

Hi Mark,
Sean and I got married on the 10th of August in Enniskerry and you took our photos. We live in London at the moment and my mother just brought the wedding album over last night.

I just want to let you know that Sean and I thought the wedding photos were magnificent! The pictures were taken in such a natural way that they really captured the moment. Your style of photography is so unique and both my English and Irish friends are well impressed and have never seen this style of wedding photography before. It's so much more exciting than the usual wedding photos you get.

I also like to say that on the wedding day you did an excellent job. Your relaxed but organised manner really helped everybody.

We had met with a small number of other Dublin-based photographers before we met Mark and from speaking to him it was his laid back personality as well as his sample photos/albums that made him an easy decision for us. We weren't disappointed. On the day Mark was very relaxed and really put us at ease (particularly good if you are getting a bit stressed!). He was constantly taking photos but in a very unobtrusive way so we could just get on with enjoying our day - it never felt the camera was on us all the time. We kept portraits/posed shots down to a minimum as we preferred more natural reportage style photos, but either way Mark is great at both.

We were able to see our proofs on Mark's website while we were still on honeymoon and I know our guests also enjoyed looking at the photos so soon after too. We ended up ordering a main album, small parent album, black & white montage and some loose photos too - it is easy to get carried away! But we were really thrilled with the finished products. Whilst we picked the photos we liked, we left it to Mark to design the album and the way he put it together is really amazing - it perfectly tells the story of the day so well and brings back different memories every time we look at it.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mark, the quality of his work is amazing, he is a talented photographer and a nice guy. Importantly, Mark did everything he said he would when he said he would too.

I can not recommend Mark highly enough! He is a fantastic photographer who I wish worked in Dubai, I would definitely be recommending him to my clients. On your wedding day, Mark will be like a shadow, you can’t always see him but you know he is there. He is very unobtrusive, it amazes me how he gets such wonderful and candid shots. His professionalism does not stop on your wedding day, his service afterward the big day is excellent. Getting to know and feel comfortable with your photographer is very important, Mark has a professional but fun loving nature that I think is reflected in his work. In my opinion you will have wonderful photos that really capture the essence and ambience of the day if you hire Mark. You definitely won’t be disappointed, he exceeded all my expectations!

How are you, still busy I hope?

Just wanted to say thanks a million for all your help, the album and the pictures of our wedding . The album is fantastic, I cant believe how wonderful it is every time I look at it and everyone else who sees it thinks it is amazing too. I particularly like the shock factor when they come to the group picture on the centre pages and the double page shot of myself and Sarah by the sea. I don't think I will ever get tired of watching the expressions on their face when people turn the page over for the first time. "Priceless". And I would definitely recommend people to get the Matrix Album even if it is more expensive, because now that its all over, really its the only thing of substance we have left to remember the day. John and I received the wedding album yesterday. It is absolutely stunning! We are very pleased with it, you couldn't have done a better job on it.

It has everything, right down to the finest detail of the little chocolate box on the table at the reception. My Mum came over last night to see it and she thought it was striking. I know the rest of our families and friends are going to think the same also.
