I really do have the best job!

 Siofra lives in Australia and while she was home on a recent visit, brought her mother Triona in for a portrait session. I think that closeness they share really shows in the photographs we made together. They both looked stunning on the day, really enjoyed the shoot and there were a few tears when they came back the next day to view the results.  

Yesterday, I received this lovely card from Triona.  

"Dear Mark,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the job you did on our photos.Everyone who has seen them has said that you captured the connection, bond and love between myself and Siofra. They are truly special.

Gay Byrne as you've never seen him before!

I've been privileged to photograph Gay a few times over the years, for magazines and book covers, etc.

I was looking for something the other day and came across these images from one of our shoots a few years ago.

I used to ask the well known people I photographed if they'd pull faces. Most wouldn't, but to my delight and surprise, Gay really went for it.

It speaks volumes for the man's professionalism and self confidence that he humoured me.
